With the first pick in the 2004 NBA Draft, the Orlando Magic selected Dwight Howard from Southwest Atlanta Christian Academy. Howard's NBA debut on November 3 against the Bucks in the season opener was a sign of things to come. His immediate impact was felt, contributing 12 points, 10 rebounds, and four blocks as the Magic narrowly defeated the Bucks by one point, 93 - 92. The 6'10" rookie proved his potential and talent in his first year, finishing the season with averages of 12 points, 10 rebounds, and 1.7 blocks per game. As we celebrate the induction of Howard, aka "Superman", into the Basketball Hall of Fame on September 6, 2025, we remember the 2004-05 season when the Magic proudly wore their beloved Hardwood Classic Jerseys from the mid-90s.
