Frank Gifford was a one-of-a-kind player. In 1952, he began playing both offense and defense for the Giants, which was a rarity in those days. He was elected to the Pro Bowl eight times in his career and named MVP of the NFL in 1956. In a 1960 game against the Philadelphia Eagles, Gifford was tackled hard, suffering a serious head injury which would cause him to retire from football. Rather than stay out of the game, Gifford returned to the Giants after 18 months. This time, instead of playing running back, Gifford started as a wide receiver. Despite having to learn a whole new position, Gifford flourished in this role. In his entire career, Gifford rushed for 3,609 yards and 34 touchdowns and received for 5,434 yards and 43 touchdowns. To honor his career, the Giants retired his jersey number, #16. He was elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1977. Take home a piece of NY history when you decorate your office or fan cave with this miniature replica helmet from Riddell. This mini helmet has been hand-signed by Gifford himself!
